Improving Access to HIV Treatment Services through Community ART Distribution Points in Uganda.

In Uganda, stable clients need ways to access medications closer to their home to minimize the cost and disruption of staying adherent to ART. In 2006, The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) developed a new program to provide ART care and treatment to eligible patients at “community drug distribution points” (CDDP). The project promotes a sustainable, cost-effective, and community-based option in ensuring adherence to ART.
